Tools I Use
Some links are affiliate links and I earn something if you use them.
Streaming and Recording
Simple streaming and a great place to start with an easy to use interface, basic production capability, show recording and multi-streaming to most platforms.
Link almost any production software to almost all the social platforms you want or produce a live straight from Restream.
Mac user looking to level up your video production capability? Ecamm is a much more complex tool, but also very intuitive and allows you a ton of flexibility in producing very professional live streams.
Workflow Tools
Want to have your social media calendar, task management and financial data all in one place? Notion is a tool for building just about anything productivity oriented. Easy to use or super complex depending on deep you want to go.
Plan your posts, schedule posts on most platforms and review your analytics all in one place. Metricool is a simple and very affordable software for managing the things you’re doing on the internet.
Website Tools
Simple, clean and easy to use! Squarespace does a great job for most businesses and organizations to get a website up and running. Even includes some basic e-commerce capabilities. Most of the websites I’ve built have been on Squarespace and it is very easy to turn over control to the business owner.
Looking to build a simple app? Glide has a very simple to use and straight forward NO CODE solution that can get you up and run very quickly. Use a Google Sheet, Excel file or AirTable and build an app with the data you have.
Camera Gear
Great for both video and photos. It has just enough of each that it makes it one of the most versatile in Sony’s line up. Great lowlight capability and images that allow a lot of flexibility in editing are keys.
A video workhorse capable of 4K 120 frames per second. A low light beast that provides some extreme flexibility in shooting conditions. Can do basic social media photos, but much better for video.
One of most reliable go to focal lengths, this is one of the best investments you can make for general content creation.
Very reliable and capable on camera microphone… it just works and has for a long time.
Depending on what type of work you’re doing, this is almost more versatile than the trusted 70-200 f/2.8.
My main lens for “selfie” style shooting, especially for live streams.
I have used the very first Wireless Go and currently have the Wireless Go 2. I did buy the charging case which is perfect with 2 transmitters and a receiver. These have worked great for both higher end work as well as have 3 people on mics for a live stream with an iPhone (extra gear needed).
